F97863~ c.1940s Kodak Photographic Library Advertising Store Display Stand Shelf. I suspect it is from the 1940s. After that, the “Kodak” does not seem to have black letter borders. UNUSUAL KODAK LITERATURE POINT-OF-SALE DISPLAY. This display is made of wood – it is heavy. Local pick-up is available. UNUSUAL KODAK LITERATURE POINT-OF-SALE DISPLAY Big/Heavy Box - **See Shipping Notes Below** DESCRIPTION – This is an in-store wood display shelf from a long-closed camera store. The display stand has five (5) pocket shelves where literature was displayed for customers. The display stand is 30 inches height, 22 inches wide, and 11 inches deep at the base. With the removable “Kodak Publications” sign it is 38 inches high. The pocket shelves are approximately 1 inch wide and vary from about 5 inches deep (bottom shelf) to about 2 inches deep (top three shelves). You will receive the complete stand shown in the photographs: The wood literature shelf, top Kodak sign, and metal rod for top sign. RARE ITEM – They must be out there somewhere, but I could not locate any examples of this Kodak store literature display. None on eBay at the time developing of this listing. None in the available sales data from eBay (3 Years). I found none with Google using the keywords on the display shelf (Kodak Photographic Library, Kodak Publications for Authentic Information). I looked at all the Kodak supplies catalogs for dealers and stores that I could find – the 1940 Dealer Displays Catalog, Kodak Dealer News, 1940 “Selling Kodaks” dealer booklet, Instructions to dealers on making Kodak literature available, etc) – I just could not find it. DATING – The library shelf is not dated. I suspect it is from the 1940s. Kodak changed their logo in 1935 from a circular design to the landscape “Kodak” incorporating the colors of red and yellow. Looking at old Kodak Verichrome film boxes, the black border lines around each letter seem to be very prominent in the 1930s through 1940s and then seem to disappear after 1954/55. After that, the “Kodak” does not seem to have black letter borders. SHIPPING & LOCAL PICK-UP – Shipping to Continental U.S. Address - No International Sales/Shipping.
